SUBJECT DESCRIPTION FOR STAGE 1 SPECIALIS MATHS:
Mathematics develops an increasingly complex and sophisticated understanding of calculus, statistics, mathematical arguments, and proofs, and using mathematical models. By using functions, their derivatives, and integrals, and by mathematically modelling physical processes, students develop a deep understanding of the physical world through a sound knowledge of relationships involving rates of change. Students use statistics to describe and analyse phenomena that involve uncertainty and variation.
Stage 1 Mathematics provides the foundation for further study in mathematics in Stage 2 Mathematical Methods and Stage 2 Specialist Mathematics.
The topics for Stage 1 Specialist Mathematics are:

TOPIC 1
Functions & Graphs
TOPIC 2
Polynomials
TOPIC 3
Trigonometry
TOPIC 4
Counting & Statistics
TOPIC 5
Growth & Decay
TOPIC 6
Intro to Differential calculus
TOPIC 7
Arithmetic & Geometric sequences & series
TOPIC 8

LOCAL DELIVERY
Eyre Peninsula schools with senior secondary enrolments have made a commitment to offer subjects including SACE and VET to students from other sites across the Eyre Peninsula. This is referred to as Local Delivery. Local Delivery provides students in all schools across the Eyre Peninsula access to a wider range of subjects than what is physically available at their own school.
